Rothesay Retro Riders - inaugural meeting Time 10 April · 15:00 - 18:00 Location The Internationalist Bistro & Wine Bar 2 Knight's Road got sent an invite via face book so thought some of this mob might like to go for a look see as well
Could be interesting, a bit far for me. I wonder how people interpret the word Retro? As in Retro harking back to a style or old oily stuff...
who knows But if its retro it must be ok
I remember when retro refered to rockets........... " hooston.....we're enabling the retro rockets for our return to earth....copy that...?"......then it became something you could fit to an earlier model.... " we can retrofit you your motherboard with new ram and your chips will be fine"
I took it to be retro riders.....as in older riders.......
whats classed as old some say if you are over 28 thats old who knows now days
yes ice i agree it is all relative............when i was 15.....20 was old.............
take some pictures of the bikes that turn up so we can see what the retro riders ride...
There's a strong chance one of them will be yello, given that's all of 2 minutes ride from my place and my extensively busy appointments book has a blank on Sunday arvo. There are after all three levels of Retro. Retro = W650. Retro cool = Bonny, Le Mans Retro Yello = Norton Commando proddy racer. Yello Peril. That is all.
I'm imagining South Africans on chromed up BMW's.....thats my North Shore beach stereotype....
LOL!!...i still remember the consternation when he turned up to the BFTP ride......you real beemer riders quickly pointed him to the other meeting place...........
For those curious to know what on earth these guys are rabbiting on about, here's the object of their derision . . . . The owner wears a matching German Army helmet, tastefully chromed to match the bike of course
look at that lovely XS650 special.....
Interesting about that BMW- he chromes everything possible but buys and fits a black rear view mirror... when chrome ones are the same price etc. It's like 'analyze that' I'm curious as to what will turn up now too Bender. Make sure you do pop along eh? Got us all interested. And for the record Lemans production started in 1976 and finished in 1991 then a wee spurt of a few more in the early 00's so some of them are genuine retros now and the rest carry on the name.
the green headlight.....as well
