Another attempt at now "legendarily unsucessful" Coro Loop Hope many can make it for a fun day of riding, talking bike s**t and generally wasting time in good company http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...&day=2011-4-23 Anyone know if that cafe on Kopu Rd is still there ??
will see if I can get a day pass
I will give it a go.haven't done the loop for centuries........
Trustworthy Metservice (lol) recons the day should be decent enough. Fingers crossed. Any of the South of Bombay Hills crew thinking of coming?
Any day now I'm going to be able to say yes to these rides. But this time I will be supervising my son as he paints my roof so I guess buggering off on a bike during this process would not be good form.
Psy- what about Wild Hogs in Coro township again? Good feed there eh? Easter and weather... fingers crossed
Dodgyiti Psy- what about Wild Hogs in Coro township again? Good feed there eh? Lol, yeah that was a bit of a two-wheeled cultural clash ha ha...
Dammit, have to miss out again, sick wife and kids
I wouldn't mind giving it a go Psy, this time I will take my most reliable bike, or should I take the Norton? I can't fail 3 out of 3 attempts? Or can I ? Might have to consult with Max first - make sure he has a current WOF on his trailer Motu- that R65 of mine needs a good run mate...got a current rego on it
Dodgy, you obviously have the Norton sorted now. What was causing all the grief ?
I can't go. I've just arrived home from a one week break, and have other plans already for tomorrow unfortunately. Have a good ride, guys.
what the weather doing sighguy?
Ian, when I pulled out the voltage regulator from it's hidy hole inside the upper frame area there were no wires plugged into the back of it. Revs get to 3500 and the alt puts out full current to the battery and hence the electronic ign gets more than 12V it caused intermittant failure at revs... takes a tricky one to stump me and that was it. Could not tell there were no wires going to it until you unbolted it and pulled it clear of the steering neck. Testing the battery with the bike running prior to that gave every indication that all was well
weather looking decent enough for tomorrow so i'll be at kopu cafe 9.45-ish. my cellphone if you need it is 021 070 2940. it would be good to have some company so hope you fullas can make it
Hey Psy, if you weren't so far away i'd have joined ya. Mike, I had a similar problem with my BB electronic ignition on the 850, not long after I fitted it. It would run great for days and then would suddenly die. The only way to restart the engine was to turn the ignition off and then on again. This would happen randomly, sometimes weeks would pass before it happened again. I decided to do something about it after one trip to Rotorua. It died 6 times between Taupo and Rotorua, on that trip. I emailed Boyer Bransden thinking that I had a faulty unit. They suggested that there was some sort of interference/ poor contact somewhere in the HT system. On their prompt, I rechecked the new suppressor caps I had fitted, and found that one was only rated at 1000 ohms instead of the required 5000 ohms. Replaced the rogue suppressor and have had faultless performance ever since.
