For those of you who don't venture onto the main forum one of our members has sold her BFTP bike: Fondly remembered... Not mincing any words here, I am very relieved I will NEVER have to sit astride her again!
Her heart was never in it. Someone riding an old bike cos that's all she could afford, not because she hears the call of the Great Old Ones. I have a suspicion that no-one who has not grease under their fingernails can hear that call.
right on ixion.......people ride all sorts for all sorts of reasons...someone riding an old bike because thats all they can afford is totally different from wanting to ride it because they like it....
Very true............... You must have a passion for the era and make you choose. The older classics need a generous dose of passion, or is it madness? And, being comfortable with grease under your nails is a definite advantage.
I ride a BFTP bike because that's all I can afford - if I had the money I'd buy an XR1200. But I'd still keep a few old bikes around...if I had that much money to throw around probably quite a few old bikes.
