    bit off topic but I am after a VW colour called Pastel White L90d...went into Colorworks and they could not find it on the komptah..... I go on the net and no probs..... do old paint numbers not mean anything here in NZ???

    Same thing with BMW colour codes. Apparently the problem is due to the switch to water-based paints. The old colours often don't have a direct water-based equivalent.

    Some places will mix up a tin or aerosol of paint, colour-matched to a sample such as a small panel (like a fuel flap) or even taking the car in. Worth a try.

    Guthrie Bowron in Hastings do the aerosol tin paint matching, He is good with old paint codes too,

    Colorworks can do a match up..... for the lower body of a Kombi I can take in the petrol flap....for the white.....a whole door...

    Found some bits I could unbolt and took them into mr Paintshop..... 4 litres of acrylic laquer...thinners....some tank seal.......some fibreglass etch primer....$500.00
