The final in the trilogy.....what battery. Currently ( pun intended) I am running total loss using a 32 amp Motobatt gel battery....why? the Ducati needs a battery and it happens to fit the BMW.....thanks to Quadraflex....or adjustable terminals to the layman... Edbear has the Shorai which look to be about the size of a packet of ciggys and can start a truck....they are more expensive, so you have good old lead acid, lead acid/gel, and now lithium iron.... At the moment I am less concerned about weight and more about finishing. Electric start is so much less hassle than running and jumping and waaaay less expensive than the fancy remote control roller set ups. What say the panel... " looks like showers tomorrow..."
How hard would it be to use a baby Motobatt for the ignition & a quick disconnect car battery or similar for starting
I was thinking.....fit a smaller battery and use a jumper pack to start it from cold....bought the jumper pack from Repco...900 cranking amps....its a matter of playing around with it really.... I rode the Commando for about 200 kms on Big Jim torch batteries when the Uncle Joe let the smoke out......ignitions are not heavy users...maaaaaan.
I was thinking.....fit a smaller battery and use a jumper pack to start it from cold. That's how a couple of guys I know do it, they have some terminals hardwired on the back of the bike that the jumpers connect to so you're not trying to get them through the frame onto the terminals Long term I'd be inclined to go Shorai just for less hassle
long term I need to practice hanging off...judging by the photos....
