OK go have a look at this and then tell me who's coming along, lets say 3 weeks from now. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/en...Pioneer-Museum
I would be a starter if the date suited.
yup .........
I'm in if the dates work. Is there any minimum number required for him to open up ?
I am in just let me know the dates
Not too sure Ix. butt eye will find out and sort some dates at the same time. I'd think we'd need at least ten bikes before it's worth their while. But you neva no aye.
That must be where all the Packards from the old winery on the Scenic Drive ended up. I'd be keen to check all that stuff out....as above dates permitting.
I used to own a straight 8 Packard. It would pass everything but a gas station.
A Rudge, a Brough Superior ... would be a great place to go, but will depend on the date... Oh and would be on a 1991 bike
Could be keen too Mark. Doing the Bay of Islands again on 8/9/10th but any other date than that and I'm free Mr Granger
Saturday – 10th March – Private Museum at Maungatapere. What can I say, but WOW? A veritable Aladdin’s Cave of stuff. With 62 motorbikes, both vintage and classic, over 50 Packard cars, (I’ve heard it said they have one of nearly every model made) on display there is something for everyone. I bet more than a few of us, would see a vehicle that was owned by someone from our childhood. An im-pressive collection of engines, including a Packard-built v1650 Merlin engine, as used in P51 Mustang planes are also on view. This museum is a must for any motor enthusiast Unashamedly stolen from the Ulysses newsletter. Dunno anything more than it says there, I'm not a Ulysses member.
Good sleuthing there Ixion. No matter though, if it's as good as it's made out to be who cares about a little cutting and pasting. No progress here yet. Will get to it over the weekend, have another wee project on the boil that I need to be 100% on the ball with.
PM'd packard tonight, will post response and hopefully we'll be able to go for a pootle up there and have a long Jack Noughie.
OK received a phone call from Richard of the Packard museum in Maungatepure. They are booked solidly for May but could and would be happy to accommodate us in early June. Cost is $15.00 per person entering. A group, must be at least 8 or more people. Over 300 vehicles including 6o plus motorcycles, not a japper amongst them. Richard promises a good time to be had by all. So, come on then who's all a coming along? Post em here people.
me in first weekend in june ??????? or date TBC yet
