Bought a set of 4 to try out, the electrician in me says no to fitting load resistors is bad practice ( as in rough) so probably need a purpose built flasher relay. I suspect the solo idiot light will not work either without diode assistance or bunging two small leds into the one hole.

I have an LED-specific flasher relay in stock if you wish to experiment.

Out of interest, which of your fleet is about to become the unwitting guinea pig for this impending endeavour?

They are not standard - you will need a LVV cert. If it's a BMW you will need written permission from the owners club....and this will need to go before the committee.

Well my box of E marked LED indicators turned up. I did a mock up to test brightness, style, and operation.
Brightness: Good, better than original ones,
Style: they blend into the background.
Operation: as expected the flasher expecting 20 watts is only getting 2 so flashes faster.....solution....LED flasher unit....TM is your fwend.... $48.00....
Only down side I can see is that they need to be viewed head on..... not really a problem as I ride like no one sees me anyway.
Tried them out on the Norton and I see another set being purchased.

Just found flasher units on Ebay AU for $12.00 AU each.....on way

There used to be electronic flasher units that could cure any indicator problem - I fitted one to my 6 volt C50, and it made the indicators work when they never did before. They made them illegal because they don't give an indication to the driver that a bulb is out.

Were they the ones in the clear plastic cylinder and you could see the elektronix bits?
Next challenge will be to get single 'idiot' light to operate......

found it on the Commando forum....

Finished off the LED indicators on the Norton....got confusing as the new bits are negative earth and the bike is positive earth....ended up making the indicators 'floating' from the main system.
Idea was to get rid of ugly Japanese Stanley ones and try and get the new ones to blend into the background when off.

    Before Big Monday

After $60.00 on TM, $20 on Ebay AU for the flasher unit and a few hours....

It's not original. You realize that you will be stripped of your anorak and ostriched by the true blue Nodden nudders.

Maybe I should trade it on a 1990 or later bike...I hear they are more gooder.
Ken says they would look good on a Manx...

While I liked the idea of new! LED indicators and I bought some real nice ones from Tardme, once it came time to get em to work. Nothing worked. So I biffed em back on Tme and put the originals back on in the meantime. Have come to realise that I like them so they're staying now. Even got my trusty ol leccy mate cmoore to come round and have a go.
    cmoore you walking yet?
I've got full ROM brace movement now but still no weight at all for another 2 weeks then a bit at a time for the next few months.

LED indicators are not plug and play, you need the correct flasher and the biggie.....if you have one flasher idiot light they won't work.
Nortons never came with indicators and the Lucas ones look naff
