I have just discovered a service provided by NZ post where they provide you with a USA postal address to receive goods destined for you and then forward them to your New Zealand address.....applicable where the USA companies will not post to international addresses. ON the NZ Post website search for "YOUSHOP" http://www.nzpost.co.nz/products-ser...opping/youshop
Very helpful indeed! Dont you hate when you find something online that you like (and usually well priced compard to the NZ prices) just to discover "no international shipping"??
Good find Hobbyhorse!
Thanks for sharing Rhys. I will be using NZ Post on a hefty US parts purchase today. The estimated freight is around 1/4 of that offered through the US site. Cheers.
I used it this morning for the first time Ian and the savings in freight are really impressive.
The parcel arrived this mornimg via Courier Mail using the Youshop system and all good. Plenty of emails to tell me where the parcel was from the moment they received it in NZ Post receiving depot in Sacramento until it arrived here with tracking numbers all the way. All good and at a very reasonable cost.
I too used it today to buy some parts the local Guzzi agent says were " no longer available" ........Yeah Right.
" no longer available" I get that from the local Ducati agent as well....
My local Ducati is the last place I would ever go for Ducati parts..... however my US one is sending me the Guzzi bits that are " no longer available"......is that a euphemism for " I can't be arsed stocking them or the factory can't be arsed stocking them. I am finding Ebay Germany is good if you can get them to post outside Europe, post is way cheaper as are the parts.I used Bing to translate.
With all the good reviews above now i'll just have to buy something! Weld-on hardtail for the XS might be a good start
I'm using this service once my parts get from the US East to the West Coast. Parcel is travelling internally by FEDEX but seems to be taking an eternity. I'll let you know what the turn around is like and the price, once I get contacted by NZ Post when it arrives in Portland.
I ordered some Guzzi parts that are 'no longer avaialbe' from my friendly Ducati man in the States, he said he could send me some parts for about $16US, but was also interested in the NZ Post thing. So it took 2 weeks, $9.20 US post at that end and $22 NZ to get here, thats for a 9" x 2"x 7" USPS box. So a total of.... around $32.00. Thats for 3 Brembo Caliper kits including all seals and pads for around $30 US each..... On TM just for the seals $35 plus $8 post. Easy to set up and like Rhys said tracked from the US.
My diff arrived yesterday, out of the blue. I hadn't received notification that it had left the US depot. I had just sent NZ Post an email asking what was going on. They apologized for the lack of communication. Very happy with the total freight charge, which worked out $100.00 cheaper than what was offered directly from the seller.
Diff? Oh yeah that HEAVY stuff! I got mine from Canada via "surface post" (took 3 months lol) but postage was "only" $100CAD. I bought a luggage rack for Bruno off the US ebay and it's now on its way across the American soil to the NZ outPost (pun not intended!).
What are you doing weighing poor old Bruno down with extra luggage ? Have you got that much surplus power from your recent rebuild? Must have the carbs sorted now!
