Hopefully the soggy chips and sausages on a stick with red sauce will stay....
Those 2 white ovals still interest me more than that grey bit.
Great idea, lets fuck up a shithole track and make it even shittier by putting a couple more corners in to fuck up one of the best parts of a fucking rubbish track
Chris Amon put it a little nicer but the sentiments were the same. The one good place for passing was at the end of the back straight & they stick in what is little more than a chicane to stuff it up. He expects racing will become pretty much a procession, the track had reached it's use by date. Who am I to argue.
Bring back the Elbow !!!!
Well...I might send in my ART day form and try it for myself.....facilities look better.....missing the portacom bogs already....... To be honest its too narrow to do anything but parade in a car....but hey thats all cars are good for anyway....that and carrying the beer. Personally I would have prefered Len ( I like to spend OPM) Brown to finish Hampton Downs.....but thats a different council...... politics....fucks everything up.
I thought "revamp" or "remodel" or whichever way they described it would mean more than sticking a corner at the end of the backstraight!
I went past on monday, looks like they've ripped up the front straightaway.
revamped means more shops and food outlets to seperate the punters from their dosh.
Nah, the front straight hasn't been touched. They've dismantled the pits and laid a new concrete pad for a new pit block, so there's a lot of vehicles parked on the track for the sake of convenience.
I thought the back straight was too long anyway.. More hot dogs and hot chippies can't be a bad thing can it?
I also miss the elbow.
Just sent my entry in for the ART day there, Anyone else going to go? They spoke about it on Sunday and it sounded better , with more corners and wider bits. Might be able to leave the Taupo gearing on now. Linky http://amcc.org.nz/home
Im thinking seriously about it, wondering what the benefits will be for my 165 hard earned ones.
Hmmmm....sent mine in only to realise it clashes with racing at Taupo....bugger. Give it a shot Diggers, you get 4 20 minute sessions and some good coaching on road riding. Its a lot of fun too.
