OK, I'm putting it out there: BFTP Annual Anniversary Ride, Sunday 30th June. I'll post a proposed route for the day when I come up with it. In the mean time, mark it in your diary! I'm sure we can make it for a run. Yes, the daylight is a bit on the short side at this time of the year, but I wasn't responsible for forming this outfit way back when Somewhere there will be a place for lunch and hot coffee. Cheers Diggers
What part of the country do you have in mind?
Is there an alternative date in case its raining?
Or maybe an indoor venue for garage queens . . . .
You are on Diggers, there is no rain forecast for the 30th June .... yet. Toughen up guys!!
Sounds good so far, i will reserve the date....
so after the by election huh
fifth anniversary of what??? The last one of these??? "We ride once a month. Our rides take 3 - 5 hours including stops and are generally held rain or shine"
It is the 5th anniversary of our last ride.
C'mon gents, I remember the last Anniversary Ride, twas only 2 years ago! And to the Weather Nay Sayers: "held rain or shine", therefore that's the date. I'm thinking of meeting at Papakura, going down the Hunua Valley, south via Kopuku Rd to Tahuna Rd then left to Te Aroha for coffee. Stage 2: Te Aroha, Morrinsville, Huntly, SH22 (Nikau Valley or whatever it's called for lunch), back to Bombay then home. I know some of us have oft travelled 22, but I like it and think it's a great biking road. Stage 1 is a very pleasant North Waikato road, IMHO. Not so great for the Hawkes Bay lot, but you guys are far away!
I tried to draw a map on Google and save it, but the method escapes me
Here is the route you described. http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?saddr=...=m&mra=ls&z=11
