I was contacted by the Chinese administrators of domain names to advise that a Chinese company has applied to register my website ( www.ganleyengineering.co.nz) throughout asia. I assume this means they will try to intercept my sales and communications or try to sell my site back to me. Anyone else heard of this? Will they make a bamboo replica of my BMW and try to sell that back to me as well?
That is a fairly old scam. They want you to buy (through them) the domain name for a whole pile of countries. Also - they will make a bamboo replica of your BMW and try to sell that back to you....
Damn. I always have trouble telling the difference between bamboo and ricepaper replicas and the real thing....
