Today I planned to go into the garage and do a bit of the BMW, firstly I'd start off with a bit of tidy up. Pushed all the non runners outside, gave the garage a bloke sweep and tidy.... With the BMW on TM I don't have a bike with WOF and rego....so I put the Norton on charge. An hour later it was running and ready for a wof, hmmm no one at my fav testing station so I had to got to Mt Roskill.... They were not busy but were slow as.... arguing with some dude over his windows being too tinted..... So they looked at the Norton......" Your headlight pattern is not right mate" Here we go Well it was right 3 years ago when they vinned it, and every 6 months since. " It could be the bulb" ( where do they get these fuckwits from) " its too high...I'll get the manager" " yes its too high" me " that's because I'm usually on it when the lights are on, not on the main stand" ( sits on bike) " its still to high" me" watch this....you can tilt it with your hands" " that's better.....when you go home be sure to tighten it up" Then one of them holds the bars and the other spins the front wheel.. " your bearings are getting a bit rough...I'll let them pass this time" " you might notice when you ride" " what are your brakes like?"( the brakes are really decellerators) me" you know the 4 second rule?......I use the 10 second one" finally get WOF. " I don't have a bike, thinking one day of getting a 250"...... Got 12 months rego $117 Went into York Street Motorcycles, a bike workshop with lots of nice bikes, Trident, green frame 750ss....others.....had a coffee in front of the blazing fire....nice. Rode up to Red Barron, enquired about a certain bike they had for sale.....its in the shop mate......we have a Multistrada...? " C'mon they are the ugliest thing on 2 wheels mate...." " they go good"...... Had a look at a couple in Cycle Spot.....yellow ....er no thanks. Popped into a mates workshop on the shore had a look at the A35 race car he's building, and some customers Austin 7 racers. " what you need is a coffee machine and a log fire mate" It was such a cloudy and cold day I thought may as well keep going as I was unprepared with just a thermal, t shirt and leather jacket. Up thru Albany, off at Dairy Flat, back on Peak Road across Kumeu, and back the Scenic green slimy Road. By then my fingers were starting to get numb, and my head was hurting from the cold... Stopped into the local fake Irish Pub for a pint o Guinness some hot chips, sat in front of the fake open fire and listened to karoke kwality Irish music..... Norton went well. Great day out really. Garage is still a mess.....
You need a second day off to catch up on all the things you did not do on the first day off. If a higher authority catches a whiff of all this indolence she will retaliate with,,,, a list .
