Brother-in-law is getting ready to race in the classic in August. 1980 Suzuki being prepped by Croz. There is a newly built engine now producing 130hp and moving to 17" wheels to give more tyre options. He is clocking up the miles at the moment ( early morning before the races) learning the circuit. It takes hours of riding , driving and walking the course. The bike gets shipped in July and will be tested at Donnington. Hopefully I'll get the on-bike vids and the full story as it happens. Competition for Volty & Trustme.........Actually a big motorsport year for the family. Brother is shipping in a rebuilt Formula Atlantic for HD and exhuming his Lotus 11 LeMans.
Will be watching with interest, and not a little envy. Any chance of a BFTP group trip to the Isle of Man?
Hail Rhys..........full of humour!..............what odds are you offering?
Im sure we could flag our monthly ride that month and substitute the IoM. As long as we were back in time for the next monthly ride after that.
1980 suzuki ................ Gsx1100 ?
GSX. Will check it out soon as it is being built right now.
Simon, Your BIL wouldn't be Grant Dalton would it?
Yes. Do you know him?
Al, shouldn't you be over there racing the TZ? If you google Guy Martin, among the vid clips is a 2 part doing a lap around the IOM on a Honda from the racer's perspective along with the commentary. Worth a look.
Simon I've know Croz for a few years, and Dalt's bought Kerry's white/red TZ700 last year through Croz. When Dalt's started racing the XR69 this year at Hampton Downs they joined in on a garage with us and then for the last couple of rounds, I 'd book garage and send out the invite to all the same guys to see who wanted a spot. So we had Grant and Croz in with us, plus a few other good old boys each time. Plenty of banter, plus also Grant and I were in some of the same races. He also came out to one of rider days I was instructing at. IOM: Not in my life time as I said to a mate the other day. I like a long and prosperous life......though, I am ust waiting to find out whether I've got a ride on a TZ350 at Spa in July.....
He certainly has an impressive basement. As he is back hopefully we will catch up in Gasket Cafe.
