Spoke to Nick and Wendy today, they finished the Suzuki series in the points...and money!!! First time at Wongas or a street circuit. I think he said they came 7th out of 17. Got to meet Guy Martin on the podium as he handed out the prizes.
Well done them!!
They did well, I was just coming up to lap them when the flag came out in race 1, didn't get that close in race 2 though, I had a rough start with a little incident in qualifying
We got home a few hours ago. What a great event! We were entered for Wanganui 12 months ago, but came as spectators instead after Wendy broke her wrist and thumb. No excuses this time, even though I was feeling a tad overwhelmed. Once on the track, everything came together and we managed to stay away from the kerbs, haybales and street furniture to successfully complete both races without incident. Our overall points tally reflected the benefit of attending every round and completing every race. We were consistent tail-enders, but we were also consistent finishers. The prize money was a pleasant, unexpected bonus. The trip home today took a liottle longer than expected. We came across a rider who had gone down just south of Te Kuiti. We managed to wedge his bike onto the trailer next to the sidecar and dropped him off at his home in Hamilton.
Is the W(h)anganui Council going to take you guys ( kickah) up on the lawn mowing round after the trial?
That's fantastic news Nick and Wendy, bloody well done. Didn't see you there, rode down with Ratbag, MURRAY Ikey Bikey Super Twin Don and others, left there over to Palmy for the night. Hot day to be out there but what good racing.
