After 6 months, I managed - usually - to only spend money.

How come so many people started on a SL125? I don't remember seeing many around back in the day.

I had a BSA Bantam Major - the bigbore 150cc. Mine was blue, and might have had the bigger rounder tank, but they don't look familiar so I'll go with the small tank. My Mum said ''You need to get to work and night school, so I bought your cousins Bantam for $60, you can pay me back at $5 a week, on top of your $10 board....I was earning $18, so $3 a week for fuel and burgers.

I spent my money at Weston Webb in Otahuhu, where the standard outfit of customers was a cutoff DJ over a leather jacket, two pairs of jeans and work boots. Over the years got well known enough to just walk out the back to the workshop.

My goodness. Some of you had real dungheaps indeed.

My T350 was 18 months old and like new when I got it. It seemed to age rapidly after then though.
Probably due to doing things like taking the pipes off and riding through Wellington CBD on Friday night. Much noise and flames indeed. I bet the shoppers were impressed.
