crikey... bit of a stampede there Wolfie, unfortunately shift work counts me out of this one. I went around that loop on a XT550 quite a few years ago now, I guess the road has improved somewhat by now ride safe.
The ride started off a bit wet until we got past the Bombays, a grand total of one bike and one classic car enjoyed the jornery through to Thames, where we stopped for morining tea, then cruised up the coast to Whitianga, had lunch at the Jandal cafe and headed home. Clocked up about 400 km, a good ride.

Three hard core riders left the BP under very wet conditions, got as far as Thames, had morning tea and decided to head back home.
