Duty free is best. 1 litre bottles are most civilised.
The beauty of having a still and making your own is you can fine tune it to your taste, rather than tuning your taste to what is available. Making it for about $15 per litre is a bonus too.
Making basic alcohol and adding a flavouring syrup? Shudder.
Ardbeg. Aaah! So good I can't drink it.
Ardbeg is a lovely big hairy chested malt. Possibly my favourite Island malt, although edging out Lagavulin 18 is a big ask.
I shall be interested to see what selection Judy Free has in store in a few weeks time.
Is it just me, or is a No.1 Monticristo Torpedo the best accompaniment to any single malt experience?
Shortbread is a fine accompaniment to... well, most things really!
Oysters are particularly exquisite when washed down with a good salty island malt.
I find that Wasabi Peas go very well with islay Malts
