It's very tempting, but if I call it '$5K in 10days' I'm less inclined. That and the probability that I'd get to day 4 or 5 and just not want to get back on the bike!

If I win Lotto between now and then I might review, otherwise I'll just have to be content with my 2100Km badge.......and look forward to what the extremely Bold print for the 25th GC is all about??!!

I understand your sentiment, I have limited leave so I cram it in when I do...

For those who like to plan ahead....I have already booked in tyres and service.

From Todd at Motomart in lower Hutt

I've spoken with the workshop and we'd be prepared to drop everything and help you guys out, we have 5 mechanics here and if need be we'd set aside the time needed to service as many bikes in the time frame as required.
Keep in touch and we'll put everything in place to make this as easy as possible.

If I were to do it, I would expect a new set of tyres from the start to get me through and wouldn't even plan a service for the ST along the way.

Pity you picked Motomart but.... I would be loathe to let that Honda Dealer touch my Honda.

Choice of dealer was a recomendation from the dealer who sold and looks after my bike while I am away, I have been happy with their service to date so owe them the respect of their opinion...and I guess they would not want to be the cause of a rider not completeing the 10k...

That said, maybe I could have saught the opinion of Duc owners in Wellington first...bit late for that now I guess...

6k from a set is my best....and that is getting the most out of them....

Now it is all over 18 riders started 17 finished =. Well done to all who took it on and made a safe trip of it all.

ya bunch of crazies, well done. To LBD and the other, who did TT2000 as well, you're just extra crazy!

Thanks Gremlin, Not only am a socially inept nutter, I am extra crazy as well....at least I am not stupid....?...Dont answer that!

What a great holiday I had...I queezed in a Chch Wed night ride, a Prorider track skills day...(Recomended) The two runs, a 3 gorges ride, 2 infringment notices after my detector fell off and got lost...I have them pinned on my wall here at the camp as a souvenir, and 4 relaxing days in Motueka and picton.

Really big thanks to Lee and the Rustys and also to Mike Hyde for his efforts with the TT.

On the 10k...two guys deserve a mention in my books...

Ian on his gold wild wing and his 10 (daily) amazing feats of endurance.

Figjam on his mean green rocket machine for his super human constraint, riding 9990 km at legally acceptable speeds...hat off to that man.....(but when he does grow horns....)

For those that are interested, here's a link to Clive's report: http://www.xenacommander.com/rustyrides.htm

He hasn't quite finished it yet so I guess the write is more of a grind than the ride!?
