Given the lack of response, and if you haven't already done so, your best bet would be to check out http://www.ducatimonster.org or http://www.ducati.ms/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42

Have use both hard and soft luggage and both have there advantages and disadvantages...

but I reckon for the monster a nice set of throw over panniers would be best. But you will need to put that scuff stuff on or put some soft non-sctratch material (have heard people using sheep skin on the inside of the panniers) underneath and over the and paint where they can scuff the paint with movement.

Even though they are throw over and are supposedly ok like that its also a good idea to get a bungy chord to go over the top to hold them down in any wind... I have seen a set get blown off a bike and use to do that on the VTR...

The advantage of them is that you only have them on the bike when you need them and there are no ugly brackets of hard luggage when they are not on the bike.

Cheers Nighthawk,is that your monster in the pic?nice looking machine mate.Still looking for panniers just waiting to see what Image Motorcycles have in next time i'm up New Plymouth way.Brought a tank bag in the mean time that suits the Monster tank it has a zip through the middle that lets it bend to the tank shape also has hidden straps in the bottom so it turns into a backpack as well.seems to work okay
