K mate , well it's Sunday morning and there's no rain!Anyone else coming?
Signing in feeling very guilty I forgot we had our own group here now Hope you have had a good ride
LOL no worries you Hamiltonians, we did get to the Muddy on or about the time we had estimated, as per last ride, but we got there by a completely different and brilliant route. I will be adding the next ride to this forum and to the general KB threads and Events section so no one can miss it then we'll see what happens. Today's ride was a cracker thanks for the company Voltaire and Max headroom for catching up with us and our new friends at the Muddy, even though you had to cage in, we'll forgive ya cause it was good to have another BFTP Rider with us no matter how they got there. A small but concise ride report follows. here tis. Today's BFTP(LOL, no worries psy, go and have fun mate, wish I could ride again tomorrow.) ride was awesome, we had two riders depart from the Botanical gardens Manurewa on time at 01000hrs. The route changed somewhat and we ended up at kaiaua, where we picked up another two bikes and 3 people. Then it was on to the Muddy via a new bit of road and what a time it was, sun shining, little or no wind and all the while we were on the back roads next to no traffic. Lunch at the muddy with our new found friends then out the back to Tuakau, Runciman and then to the Jolly for a quiety at Murphy's, a newly refurbished part of the old jolly, great place nice atmosphere. Completed about 200 k's today, no rain at all, plenty of sunshine, little wind and very little opposing traffic, lots of other riders out and about, meet up with a lot of people who are now going to check out KB and perhaps have some fun on their bikes as well. All in all a damn fine day. Missed you all!, but hey there will be another time, chalk this one up as another small but enthusiastic BFTP Ride!
Great run yesterday, was surprised to see the 'Nipponese Few" out on a run.... How about a section on " Best Excuses To Not Come" I'll start: " My Ducati wouldn't start...and even if it did the clutch slips...and its got no warrant or reg"....sounds better than " the missus wouldn't let me out".
Lol... Sounds like high maintenance chattels either way. I guess Italian bike owners wives have a greater level of competition in for maintenance quota .
Brings to mind a group in the USA who call themselves "Team Incomplete". Full membership doesn't get issued until a member can't make a meeting due to a bike breakdown . . . . these guys pride themselves on having unfinished and unreliable projects preventing them from riding! Most of us here would already qualify . . . .
