Since i have now read through my new subscription to motorcycle mechanics..(a fantastic mag)...i have noticed that the pomgolians have lots of rallies / gatherings...etc. for these old bikes (and riders)...sometimes with other groups like the classics and sometimes not.......maybe we should aim for something of that nature at some point…you know…create an annual BFTP fun run or “bike show”…I know this sounds more organised….but it doesn’t need to be over the top…maybe just a run and “show” at the annual classic bike weekend at puki….since those guys don’t allow jap bikes….yet when you go to the races the car park is full of them….. 1. BFTP Rally 2. BFTP Bike show 3. BFTP Fun run and bike show 4. BFTP Poker run 5. BFTP Around NZ in winter fun run…just for caseye….
Don't you dare make caseye lap the country in winter, he's such a bastard he will most likely enjoy it and make new friends, visit interesting places and his bike will run even better afterwards and we will all regret not going with him. I was thinking maybe a rally early next year. Just a leave Sat morning come back Sun arvo. We could tie it in with some Classic Racing event or something else cool. (No Voltaire not an antiques fair)

Yeah we could do Puke Classics, I have always wanted to camp there but end up going just the one day every year. We could build some hill climbers and have races up the bank. Mind you, I do have prior history of getting ejected from this sort of thing so probably not a good idea to listen to me.

Bloody hell croc, how on earth did you get all that crap on your bike? Did you used to have a BMW? Last time I went camping I had a tarp and a sleeping bag and lived on flat soda and cold pies but your setup is better than I have at home! Looks just like the BFTP HQ. Great stuff. i toured nz on my XS back in the early 80's...only had a small bag on the back.... so puki is next feb 2010...5/6/7 there is also this one www.classicbikes.co.nz Swap Meet. The Club runs the biggest motorcycle-only swapmeet in NZ, held at the Claudelands Events Centre in Hamilton City each April.
All good then. Will chuck all the gear in the wagon and get the cook to drop it off for us. But (as it's unlikely we will have power) we will be needing some eskies and lots of ice or some such... anybody got a side car we can fill up with ice for the beers?? The Hamilton show has gotta be another must do.
yeah sounds good, i went both tdays this year...it was great weather...i looked at the people camping and thought how cool that would be...........oh...and my MIL lives in Puki...so she can pop in and do the dishes...bit of cleaning....
