I took two bikes out of Aussie...so I can't comment.... ( seen a few Ducatis go there recently)
He did a bank transfer and his bank charged $15 Australian, then my bank took $15 NZ so my $100 sale ended with $67 in my account. To make up the $33 it would have cost him another $58 AD so I said don't worry about it, and that was the last thing I ever sold to Oz yeah, paypal comes in handy in such situations. mind you the postage to/from oz is AS MUCH as from the USA. shocking...
In the early 00's I financed a two year Kombi/BSA expedition to Ireland by selling stuff on Ebay.... I don't bother with Ebay these days as there is too much fine print. The Yanks stopped doing surface post last year....but Canada still does....:-/
