Ok boys we need help .... does anyone have tucked in their garage seals for master cylinder for back brakes to fit a lovely GS850

The old girl (the bike not Mrs JMK ) passed her wof today but they mentioned brakes would need doing in near future, riding back to work the brakes decided they were going to fail today not the near future!!!

So at the moment the JMK's will not be riding Sunday

Havent tried to get the seals from Boyds yet ... tomorrows job

I usually go straight to a brake specialist like Auto Stop and take Vern the vernier and the seals with me.

Genuine part prices suck... except for Guzzis, they is cheap as chips

Sorry jmk, no spare MC or piston seals. Do have a spare MC and caliper, though it would be unlikely that they would be much good without a full strip and re-build as they have been hanging around (literally) dripping fluid for at least a couple of years and look remarkably unloved.

Oh yeah, I can bring a working Brembo M/c for 7/8 bars- have it fitted and blead in 15 mins in the carpark if it gets that desperate that you can't come on the ride
If the warning switch fittings are not compatable just tap the back brake when your stopping

Mmmm Brembo , you won't know yourself.. probably end up buying a Ducati

Strip your m/c and caliper. Spares that have sat in garages for yonks will be full of crap. Clean yours up, but you'll probably find the ali bore pitted. If the pitting is too severe, you'll need to buy a new m/c. If pitting is minor, new seals will work.

Your right Dodgy not cheap like Brembo seals kits.

Brand new rear slave cylinder kit for 1981 Kat is about $73.00 & front slave cylinder kit is about $132.00. Both in NZ Suzuki stock and will be here tomorrow

    Holy crap Katman!
Your right, the Guzzi front and rear was less than $20 including freight...

Weird that a Mk1 was nearly double the price of a GS850 new and the parts are probably half or less the price, you Jap classic chaps sure are dedicated (much respect), I would spew at the cost of some of the NOS or repro stock exhausts for late 70's early 80's Japanese machines.
