Have just cancelled my $500 a year cover with AMI as I just discovered that the pre-agreed cover (I negotiated over the phone) is actually 'market value'. (No I didn't read the f*%king policy document) Have been making inquiries and getting nowhere fast. Though I was good to go with SwannInsurance (Classic cover) until they asked me to get a market valuation to confirm the pre-agreed value (WTF??) I contacted Holeshot & Colemans and they indicated (without looking at the bike but assuming it was in excellent condition) that they would have difficulty providing a valuation over $1000 to $1500 (as that is all it is worth to them). Both also conceded that given the rarity of the bike, I may even have to pay more than $6000 to buy a really good one assuming I could find one. Unless they happen to have one at the time. Both confirmed that they would not buy one if offered to them and would be unlikely to accept one as a trade. Neither can remember the last time they had one available. What a fucking wank. Looks like I will just find the cheapest third party cover I can buy. Might even go find a $500 pusser to insure then aim it at the most expensive cars I see on the road just to teach the wank stains a lesson
so, now you have some money for nice new shocks?
Got the Darmah insured thru the VCC/Vero...for agreed value of 10 k.....$ 120 pa fully comp* *you have to be a member of the VCC....( may need slippers and pipe) Probably can't be your primary vehicle. But with your demerit history.....
Heh! Vero eh. I do a bit of work for them from time to time (coincidentally looking at another issue for them tomorrow) I might just be able to swing something with them If the deal is swing-able, those silly little demerit points wont be an issue
Vero...only if you are in the VCC....otherwise when I tried to insure the " noisebox" it was $1200.00 plus!!!
Oh Insurance ........ We had similar earlier this year and dropped the bike to 3rd party (was hard to do) but wasnt going to pay $350 for a bike we insured for $2000 and have a $1000 excess!!! We were told to give Dave at Kiwibike a call (who just happens to be a GS owner and got a damn fine deal off him - he had good knowledge of their prices and we were pleasantly surprised
Hey mate ..... Do you want to swap your bike for a 4-1
The value of my bike in my wildest dreams isn't worth 5% of what I save them each time they need my services. If I were a gambling man I'd bet money that I could insure my BM and Guzzis with them. But I own a reliable bike so will play it safe Cheers jmk If I do by some small chance strike out with Vero I'll get in touch with him Oh yeah! teh 4-1. Have thought it over and decided that what ever I get, it has to be mint or I'll just ride her till they fall off.
Just got refered to Mike Vinsen motors (Mike was a Suzuki dealer) who apparently does realistic "Market" valuations (rather than out of touch book valuations) So will see what value is realistic when he's back from his week holiday.
don't even start me on insurance companies!!!!!.........i currently have three vehicles which are are a write off (according to insurance comp) due to a) a drunk driver crashing into two of them in front of my house...3rd party...bad luck....b) son drove into back of another car...his car we bought for 3k....they have valued it at 1.5k...so wrote it off due to the front grill being broken...no other damage at all.......and the value of the grill is more then 85% of the car so....1500 - 900xs - 400 wreck value...= 200.........from 3k to 200 in one year...not bad huh...
Did the cars say ouch!.. cause that sounds very painful Mr cmoore
nah...but my house looks like a west auckland mansion......
Mansion??? mansion, in WEST Dorkland? what you tlaking about Willis???? I've got full cover($4,500) on a 250 for $258.00 with Swann Insurance, this year and full on my old girl for about $350 (7000.00, I think) with State 2 years ago. State was out of the blue the best price. For my wifes bike I tried all the KB recommends and got absolutely no where near the price that Swann did from any of them, next cheapest was about $560.00 odd.Robbers they are. Excess about $500.00 on each from memory.
my insurance woes update....i had to go with their market value assessment...but have challenged their wreck value...they said it was worth 400 i have wreckers quoting no more then 100......the insurance don't value the "mods" for market value purposes (mags, etc.) but when they offer you a wreck value they include them....wankers...
