can you not ride with the toaster panels open?

Yeah...I heard the graunch of sidestand on one corner ...Toaster thought it was brown bread..... Toast was missing ....about 500cc. The volts have to travel so far out from the bike to the left plug and then they have to run all the way over to the other plug....fuggin' tiring.
