Haa, I used to drink at the Leopard tavern too, then when it changed to Kitty's and started serving the black stuff, even more so.
that was when i stopped....
I knew some of the staff when it changed to Kitty's and love Guiness. We used to go there and 'load up' before hitting the clubs where drinks were double the price. Not many traditional pubs left in Auckland, I still go to the Kings Arms when there are some bands playing that I like, but the drinking is pretty much finito for me so there has to be something else to get me to a pub.
same here dodgyiti...no more drinking for me.......the shakespear was good...and of course before the yuppies took over the ox in vulcan lane....but the main pubs in my youth where the gables and the Albion.....
Yes we used to go to the Shakes too, they brewed some very nice beer back when there was DB/Steinie/Red on offer everywhere else. I don't miss drinking, would not have gone for a long ride on Jan 1st if I was
