there is a lot in the set-up...riding style, road surface...bike size...torque...shaft/chain.....weight.....tyre softness/hardness......shock settings.....
Croc, I was confirming cmoore's thoughts on the rails. I did realise that it was you who had mentioned the concerns on the fork oil weight. I found 15w was great at Hampton Downs. No suggestions from the scrutineers for settings or tyre pressure improvements either. Incidentally, they initially suggested 31/33 psi and I was running 32/36. Never changed pressures all day. Bike felt stable all day except on one late braking approach to the down hill hairpin.
front slide out??..that downhill hairpin turn would be a bit of a strain...especially if your a bit late on the brakes...??
Hell no, it wasn't that late. I was dicing with a pocket rocket up to the rise and left the braking a bit late. The weight transfer was still rising as I braked, locking the front end momentarily. Released and re-squeezed the brakes to settle down the ring gear. These's plenty of runoff room for error there, contrary to what you think as a spectator.
Bikemad - howdy Ivor...........you gettin Bruno all spruced up for the get together eh uhm, not sure... it's likely to have that old rusted excessively dented tank, no side covers but nicely painted rear cowl that doesn't match anything, and the old taken-apart-one-too-many-times seat, lol but the exhaust is looking nice now
psyguy - Today 17:45 but the exhaust is looking nice now Post pictures or it hasn't happened
i think the pic is in my paint refinish thread
