A flat twin has a rocking couple (every kid has turned their pushbike upside down and wound away on the pedals right? The bike rocks from side to side,the rocking couple),but it's not really noticeable in a bike.Spoon 2 flat twins together and you double the RC,they don't cancel out.To put the cranks so they cancel the rocking couple will have 2 cyls close together,the other 2 wide apart...not really workable.
interesting... why dont goldwings fall over then? a crank and rod set up like in a radial engine would cure this?
