yeah i never understand that...it doesn't bother me if her hands are oily........
well for fucks sake......the lock nut on the right hand end of the cam shaft had come loose and the advance unit was floating.........this may explain why everything ran really well for a short time...the good news is i found it...the bad news is the lock pin hole has worn so much the pin won't sit in it....i will maybe use locktight to secure the nut to hold the plate in position as you can only tighten it so much before the shaft starts rotating....
There is a more grunty Loctite product called Shaft Fit, or you could try liquid metal, or go up a size on the pin, maybe make a sleeve for it from tool steel?
any work to the pin hole would require removing the top of the motor....i will try locking the plate in place first, cheers dodgyiti
