Very nearly got the GS550 on road. Am only doing bare minimum just to get it through wof so is a bit tatty. Plan is to convert into post classic racer so am on the lookout for a CHEAP project to do to replace the 550. Main criteria is CHEAP and preferably contained in not more than 2 boxes. Must have papers but mainly be cheap. Am making enquiries about one I know of, think its an early honda or suzi? If that doesn't pan out I am available for any old thing taking up space in someones garage, so long as it's cheap
ask wickle! lol he has a spare gs550, spare gs850 spare gs1000g and at least 3 spare gsx750's lol alothough rumour has it hes gunna build a gsx750 gravel basher soon....
I DO have the spare GS550 motor which was going to be base for a replica 70's F1 bike but I suppose if someone had an old off roader frame? MMM I feel the faint rumblings of a retro supamotard

The spare GS550 engine should be the one that get cam's, carb's and more Comp for the race/road special I had a look at the YZ490 and there aint much room for a multi, and I have got it all so be shame to waste it on a special, also a shame that its such a roughy I might be able to find out about a CB900, Heard about one but it might take some tracking down if its still around
Once I get next project out of way (whatever it is), was going to race spec spare motor and put into GS rolling chassis for racing and then use motor thats in road bike now for special. Would be interested in YZ, you DID say there's not MUCH room not NO room - subtle difference a bit of lightening and bracing n stuff she'll be fine. CB would also be a goer. Is that more or less complete or just chassis?
I think its complete, A CB on a diet with clip ons, rearsets and single seat would look cool !
