I'm looking to buy a timing light - remember them old things that used to flash every time the engine turned over and made the metal cooling fan on a Holden look like it was standing still? Yes, the one with dried blood still on it. If anyone has one they want to offload please PM me - the advent of vehicles with points coming back in my life has had my brother and I searching through our old boxes of crap for our own timing lights, unfortunately without success.
I still have a broken one somewhere! It suffered contact with the forementioned fan blade. No blood, but a couple of brown stains.
Oh Bender, some of us don't have anything but points in our bikes and cars. Supercheap do a reasonable one for about $80 and a nifty one for about $130 that does dwell if you want to get it set to optimum.
Thanks Dodgy, I didn't even try Supercheap because I thought it would be one more time when I would go in there and ask for something ... to be greeted with a blank stare and asked "what's that." Gotta go there termorra so will look it up.
I've had more timing lights than most people have had 6in Cresents - my one of choice for the last 5 or 6 years is a cordless one...on my 2nd.Two D cells and one clamp around the HT lead....they have a torch too, which is useless.
damn, I only gave my hubby's one away a few weeks ago, WOUldnt you know it?
