Dragged out Honda GL145 on Saturday after a fun day at the Bucket Track.
having kids is great...you get to do all the things you missed when you were a kid....
got it started with new petrol and took it for a run down the road.

I can't find much on the net for these in the way of manuals, seems like NZ was possibly the only export market for these.

Plus points are 145 cc motor, pumper?? carb and disc brake.
Minus points are cowhorn bars and sit up position.

Looking for a very flat set of handlebars ala CB 125 for it.
and has anyone go some folding pegs I could modify into rearsets?
Oh...a early CB100/125 tank would be cool too...make it look as old as possible.

I'll have to take a pic and post it.

I have some almost flat 7/8 bars but the chrome is too good on them for buckets. Have a length of 7/8 ss tube 1.5 wall if you wanna make some?

Yeah the premier class of teenagers and middle aged men who think they are

One straight lenght of tube with the grip ends cut and mitre'd to the angle you want... just like I made the BMW bars- I can tack them up and then show Max how to fully weld them because he is a potential expert..

    I've got a CB125 tank. $1000.

You get a collection of other parts with it, mostly bolted together, but not operational.

the best way to make your bucket go faster is to take weight off....and the bike too........

im just saying...there is a reason most riders look like jockeys..........actually..i was surprised when i only just beat my kids at the go karts recently...then i remembered that we were all on the same powered machines....but i was 40ish KG heavier then them....they should have beaten me easily.....

Pulled loads of bits off the GL 145.... Wickle PM'ed me a nice set of folding pegs but they look a bit flash for ol GL...so its into the bits box and see what can be made up out of junk.
Any ideas on a muffler as the stock one is heavy?
I wonder if 17" dirt bike alloy rims would fit? are all jappers 36 spokes?
can I just run a die down the spoke to shorten it?
Going to make up a race seat next.
Motu...you must have lots of tuning ideas for the OHC 125/145 motor?

No, threads on spokes are rolled not cut. You need shorter spokes.
