I've called the NZTA again and was told the replacement VIN tag was aproved. Yay. So, assuming I'm legal by this weekend, the question is where are we going ? Bruno seriously needs a good test run
No worries. I'll make sure my trailer is empty and the tie-downs are in the car . . . .

Max Headroom - Today, 15:28 No worries. I'll make sure my trailer is empty and the tie-downs are in the car . . . . Would this be in response to my perceived mechanical skills or the Jap technology ?? Or, were you refereing to the Axis of Oil guys ?
Thanks Ratti, but that's a bit far for me for one weekend
psyguy - Today, 19:55 Would this be in response to my perceived mechanical skills or the Jap technology ?? Though, to be honest, the other day when changing the final drive I forgot to tighten a shock nut and it fell off during the 10min ride to the VTNZ

I think he was referring to the Axis of Oil... So even Zukis need Loctite, I always carry a bottle on board. Should add Duct tape to the kit as well, ya never know when it may be needed north of the Hawkes Bay. Must be about time you locked in a ride then Psy... not sure if I can make it but others will be keen for sure. Last weekend kinda got the cobwebs blown out and there are a few jobs around the place demanding my attention.
My immediate riding future looks a little uncertain too, after my bike took a tumble while parked at the classic bike gathering in Mangamingi last Saturday. I had put it on it's mainstand over a strip of asphalt, and due to the heat of the day, the stand sunk into the seal and over-balanced. I spoke to our insurance broker yesterday morning, and she emailed me a claim form. I filled it out and emailed it back before lunch, and by 3pm she had confirmed that the claim had been accepted. I'm now waiting for an assessor to contact me and make a time to view the damage. As soon as he's been and given the go-ahead, (which may even happen today), I'll be able to order parts, get the fairing stripped off the bike and get it ready for repainting. Knowing my painter, that's the bit which will take the longest but although he's not the fastest tradesman out there, his work is worth waiting for IMHO. All told, it may be the end of January before the bike is back in one piece again.
