Hi all, since it was a beautiful sunny afternoon with no wind, I started to put the engine back together on the CB, all was going well intil i put the camshaft back in and tried to adjust the timing. Every time i adjust the camchain, it ends up being 1-2mm out from the timing mark. After a few hours of readjusting, i end up with the same result. Was wondering if anyone else has a cb400n and could give me some advice.
Why not just buy a Zook? Lol, sorry, no can help there...
new chain of old one? ...could have stretched.
They never line up exactly. 1mm probably isn't any big deal. There used to be vernier bevel gears available for Nortons to get the timing exact. Which I always thought was placing an awful lot of reliance in the cam grinder to grind them to an equal degree of accuracy.
