Twas a great days racing.....even if it was a little wet....i was flag boy on turn 3...which is a pretty cool place as you get to see a number of turns and twists......the rain caused a bit of carnage.....first off at my corner was a rider who locked the gear box....on the first warm up lap.....damn......on a trailer and home..........nothing much for the rest of the day until the last two races.....a motard ran straight into my barrier....bounced and rode of again....then one of the F1 riders took a nasty drop into the sand....then on the last lap of the last race...bloody sidecar flipped right in front of me.....rider ok.....swinger didn't move...well actually he couldn't move.....poor bugger....ambulance took him away.....and then it started belting down with ran.....then the sun came out and all was well....good crowd there.....the bucket racing was very cool and looked like a lot of fun....i took great pleasure in letting the slow (Male) riders know they were being beaten by a woman.....some new posties out there as well.....We have a tri series coming up in December...with international riders coming to Hampton, Taupo and Mansfield....should be cool

There are lots of different ummmmm...abilities and speeds in the buckets....but they are all having a ball.....Hampton is definitely a big bike track...the more power the better...

Yep, went up and watched for a couple of hours, spent most of the time at turn 5 and was all good. First time i have had a good look around the track looks real good with some great turns and hills.

    all good fun

turn 5....thats the dropping left hander....seems most people who binned did so at turn 10.....although there was a spectacular almost bin by the leading F1 after turn 1.....he rode most of the back straight on the bars and just got it back together before turn 2....i heard the call over the radio and when i looked around all i saw was a rider laying prone across the bike.....he lost two places but still won........

    ta!

Thanks fotr being a flaggy. I'm usually at all AMCC meetings (on that on my 250) and ART days (on my OW01) - come find me and let me know what corner you are on.

Most of the organisers know me as I'm a life member andthe bike is obviously visible.

Is a McIntosh TZ350 with Ohlins shock, good brakes, and all the fruity bits to make oen go well. One of only 6 or 7 TZ350 frames Ken built.

no worries....let me know who's beating you and i'll red flag them.......or report them for passing under the yellow..........Nah....actually im very relaxed.....some of the officials can be very official...if you know what i mean....but things happen very fast and i would need to be very sure of myself before i said a rider had done something...especially as i understand they fine you....it is also much harder with the club racing as the races usually feature a mix of classes...meaning lots of slower riders getting lapped....so it can become very confusing.....as i heard on sunday when the lap counter stopped working....and the panic that followed.....as for being a flaggy....it is a good way to get up close to the racing....it is a shame there isn't more chance to have a look around but there is very little stop time....now i am a "corner chief" and have a headset i at least get to hear whats going on...and Hampton is heaps better then puki....due in full to not having to set up the bales...and take them down again at the end....all the flaggys enjoy it when the riders wave out on the ride back to the pits after a race....small thing i know....but we are easily please...you probably know...but i was amazed at the number of dedicated flaggys who turn up to event after event to stand all day in the sun or rain....for little more then a cold pipe and a filled roll.......and whilst some are better then others....all of them take the riders safety pretty seriously....
