    Thanks to Dadpole I was able to trawl my old pics much easier....
    here is the 1971 BSA lightning I bought here and took to Ireland in 2002. Paid $2500 for it as you see it but with no mufflers, battery, vin.
    Sold it in 2004 after much tinkering for 2700 Euros or about 5K.
    Good 'entry level' classic brit bike, althought even the much malighned Oil In Frame BSA's and Triumphs ( they have the same cycle parts) are now over 6K.
    Thats my youngest son on it outside the York Reftigeration offices where I kept it in Cork Ireland.
    Sadly I never got to do any touring on it and the classic bike scene in Cork was very low key.....
