hay well nothing to report yet.... spent every livable moment last 3weeks getting uni assignments done (had 2days without sleep) plan is this weekend to go and look at a motard im thinking about buying, might have a play with the welder and get exhaust built better. do an oil change aswell might plan to go to the kart/bucket day on the 16th . . . thats my last free weekend before i get new uni assignments
arrghh Uni assignments, yes I feel your pain.
That's not pain!!...pain is rewiring motorbikes!!! AGGGGHHHHHH
well nothing got done on the bike. i looked at it in the shed a couple of times if that counts. sat was taken up cleaning the flat etc then dam mothers day so had to go see inlaws then my mother. so yea real productive on the bike. next roys hill round is in a couple of months so hopefully be ready by then. lol might bust my nuts and try and get down to wellington for this weekends funday with the karts
well the semester is over / exam has been sat so i dragged my sorry ass out to the shed and started work on the ZZR. started to look at the engine mounts and why engine keeps jumping round and how i could make the mounts better, came up with an idea and went and saw an alloy welder yesterday, he agreed but warned me of other issues that may arise from doing what we talked about. so i came up with a new idea and talked/showed bert what i was thinking he couldnt find an issue with it so im gun ho into that. also on a side note, went and saw berts new bling engine in the weekend, dam its cool. anyway got talking about shit and he said that he was picking up an fxr engine on monday night and that the guy had the complete bike, so last night bert picked me up and we went and picked up the engine and i looked at the fxr frame .... needless to say i now own a fxr. its a rolling frame and thats about it. so new plan of attack is = get zzr fixed so i can keep racing it, start saving for some really cool bling bits for the fxr. thinking of a water cooled loncin engine. not sure what im going to do with zzr when i get fxr up and running someone put the idea of a 450mx engine in my head... ill keep you all posted
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL after some hard yacka the FXR is progressing real nicely. decided on sat that the best idea for now is swap everything off the zzr and on tho the FXR. so sunday after the world cup game i went to the shed and started taking stuff off the ZZR, wheels and brakes and body bits and then made a mint stand for the fxr frame out of 2 palets and started piecing it all together. Bert cam round to see what i was up to and then i raided his shed for tools to remove the axles from the ZZR forks. by 5pm with the help from another mate i had the loncin engine in and wheels on with no spacers. engine mounts need to be choped and moved to accomidate for the rear wheels extra width. problems : Forks are bent like a samiri sword, solution pull em apart and take them to TURNING SHOP ( free plug ) !!!! 100$ to straighten if i pull em apart and rebuild them - going to reseal re oil and revalve befor i put them back togeather. : Wheels bearings are shaged so got some more today. : Rear caliper mount is way to thick so going to machine it with my disk grider to make it fit !!! : got to build engine mounts the best R.A.G thing i did, made my own cir-clip pliers to remove clips for bearings (used berts for 1 side but forgot to do the other ) so 2X 4inch nailes welded to a set of vice grips works well !! and 1x engine bolt with 2x bungy coords is an acceptable engine support so you can push a mate around the house on a rolling frame with bent forks wheels that slap because of no spacers and a G clap and a Vice grip for handle bars !!! Fun Times im going out to the shed to pull forks apart.
well long time no update, another uni semester been and gone and no work done on bike, well that was untill last week and iv been playing with my motard. sooooooooooooo here we go - ZZR is still a rolling frame, with no loncin engine. going to keep this for a 450cc convesion (one day, one day i say) -FXR, well nothing has realy happened, got loncin engine mounted up then yea kinda got busy with life. Brent just finished rebuilding my front forks, good bloke. and yea. also got a set of FZR rims as ZZR is too wide for swing arm. Borrowed a RM swing arm off brent for the FZR rear but was too narrow so not sure what i am going to do, also picked up a few bits and peices in my travels over the last 6 months AND this is a big one i am also now the proud owner of a 2005 cbr125 most of you will know the bike been around the bucket scene for some time, so my new plan to date is. pick up and pay for cbr, get it home and see what bits fit on it, FZR rims, clipons, brakes etc etc, look at striping some more weight off it. what to do as little as possible for it to remain reliable. im heading back to uni in 4weeks time so wont have a tone of time for development and fixing bikes - REASON I GOT CBR ! ! ! FXR loncin combo will probably be sold not sure yet PXT of the CBR to be up soon Chur
Nice bro, sounds like you have the biggest shed in the Manawatu!!
lonchin boy: http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/4...0cc-170cc.html By memory the GY6 is the same as the GL145 (the basis of the Lonchin) could be wrong but this is fucken cool.
and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM im back !!! had a few weeks of working in the shed on the CBR and managed to get it going for Easter in Wellington. Events unfolded as below - CBR had issues with riding position/i crashed it 6 laps after owning it so i had to fix it - Built new rear sets out of fxr 1s i had in the shed, plus i had a few peices i had picked up for the fxr frame so they had to go on aswell - After much talk and little progress, i ripped into putting on parts - quarted turn throttle, new adjustable cluch, new clip ons, then braided brake line and new master cylender. master cylender was needed as original brakes were soft as. - BRENT bleed them for me !! master as i had no idea, meny thanks man when you read this. - The week of racing i decided to ditch standard Exaust and build my own. thanks BRENT for adjusting carb, we had also finished brakes by then so maiden ride was done!! brakes were worse than befor, swapped for standard master with adjustable leaver - Brought new tire !!! BT014 battlax, stick like shit to a blanket. other option is to go to slicks. Worked on the bike all day Friday to get ready for racing on sat - Sat morning, woke the other half up early for the long trip south. she was quiet excited as was i after 8 months without racing. - Arrived payed my coin and set up for a days racing. mrs was fizzing at the bung about me finally getting to ride - Warm up - went ok, passed a few bikes, found out what i had to change to suit riding sytle etc, was doing ok. made sure not to o to hard due to new rubber still being worn in, then lack of consentration/my fat ass getting tired i had a low side spill, broke clip ons bent radiator (wouldnt notice the leak untill later on in the day) - pushed bike back to pits - totally gutted, mrs was happy coz she got it on video !! - Missed 1st race as was repairing broken bits -2nd race, missed warm up but hay, started from the back, made up four places then got cramp in arm/hand as throttle got real tight - not sure what the issue is. had a couple of people go down in front of me and had to take a detour cross country and down a bank to continue racing but i didnt mind, bit of off road action much like riding the supermotard. after the race ended mrs noticed a few drips under the bike, it was water, i checked all pipes and clamps and topped up filler bottle to te brim. -3rd race, got a wicked start, mid pack for first couple of corners then sticky throttle came back to haunt me, mudflaps was riding a 2smoke beast had my eye on his arse when this occured, did my best to try and ride it out but was hard when it wanted to stay on loud the whole time, i had to physicaly roll off then brake then yank like fuck to get on the gas. l went backward down the pack real fast. race finished finally, in the end i was just trying to finish, got back to pits, had sweet FA water in filler tank, and noticed that radiator had a sweet curve/twist in it. - This is when i called it a day, i had a tone off fun, and so did the other half. wasnt worth a new engine to contine so we packed up and came home Big thanks go out to Brent, without you i wouldnt have been able to get the bike ready for the weekend, and also for bring down spare parts when you wernt racing. also a big ups to everyone else who made the day possible.
ha i posted it twice, was drinking when i posted it, well i lie was quiet drunk - now i edit hungover
Cool report. Hope to see you at the next round with a well behaving bike.
