Had to go over to North Shore today. Going up the motorway hill by Greville Rd off ramp wind got so bad that I could hardly make way into it and rain so heavy that couldn't see at all. Decided discretion better part of Valour and pulled over into shelter to wait it out. After about 15 minutes it cleared to just ordinary crap weather so I proceeded. Motorway flooded though bad enough to be splashing round my boots in one place. Sirens everywhere. Apparently Albanys been taken out by a tornado, must have been the outskirts of it Worst riding conditions I can remember glad it only lasted a few minutes. Not so good for the folk injured though a fee minutes was enough to be a mischief to them
Yeah, saw the results of this on the 6pm News. The bloody worlds weather patterns are changing quite dramatically. This was a tidler though, compared to what has been happening in the States!
I was at a mate's factory and the rain was so hard on the roof we couldn't hear each other talk. It eased a bit so I leapt into the car and everyone was out on the street staring and pointing so I stopped and the bloody twister was about 500m away. It had gone right past us - we saw all the roofing iron and the trampoline about 200ft up in the air. It was a big bugger all right. Another mate works for the golf club and their rain gauge recorded 20mm of wetness. I thought my car was going to float down the road. Somehow I managed to avoid the utter shambles that followed.
