I think the only solution for KiwiGs is to keep the GS and get the VFR as well. They are both good bikes at the end of the day...
Thank goodness 25 years later things have improved Dadpole . Have a 16" incher now, a CBX750F of all things , so can see what I missed back then
The CBX is another good bike too. Bugger... Is that TWO Hondas I have praised? I must be getting old.
Bonez , I only have one bike, the CBX750F, but hankered after a CX500,( and sometimes still look), but would really like an airhead. Sums up your stable doesn't it? lol
You're certainly slipping Keith . The rear linkages are flogged on mine, exhausts f#ked, engine rattle at 3,000rpm, uses oil plus a few other minor issues. Things only done 40.000 odd thousand kms and been down a few times. Goes like stink though. 800 hundy firm will see it gone, regoes on hold. Sort've haven't grown fond of it as I've done with the 550F or Cx. Sounds about right Diggers. Should clear a bit of crap out though. Mind you I've room out front for another double garage. These old state houses had decent sections.
Should clear a bit of crap out though , lol isn't that the BFTPers mantra?
We had an inorganic last week...didnn't even make a dent in the crap....
Bonez The 16" front wheels and wrap around plastic were the deciding factors for me at the time Me too! I test rode a Guzzi Mk4 LeMans with a 16 front and nearly canned off it on the test ride I'm sure like Dadpole says that you can adapt to it and a fork brace and quality adjustable steering damper helps. I'm totally over the acres of plastic not because of looks though. It's that when they get to BFTP age all the bloody clips are stuffed or worse...missing, and the plastic is brittle and scary to replace if it breaks. Ever broken a plastic clip off a fairing section?..it's heartbreaking because you know now it will either rattle or worse...rattle off down the road Buying a bike with 10 pieces of interlocking 25 year old plastic is just setting yourself up for heartbreak
I think in hindsight has shown Honda to have had the best geometry layout of all the manufacturers with regards to 16" front ends. The worse thing you can do is over tyre them. Stick with the OEM sizing.
1986 the year my love of new Ducatis died... g: ...and they were singing.... Why, why did Ducati make me cry, Plastic aint fantastic and I aint gonna buy.. The sound of whirring bevels and Contis got me high but the Paso just made me wanna cry... The day ....Ducati Died.....
That was probably the best one of the Paso range, not that any of those belt drive thingys was really any good, cept maybe the F1
Bonez I think in hindsight has shown Honda to have had the best geometry layout of all the manufacturers with regards to 16" front ends. The worse thing you can do is over tyre them. Ive never understood those that cant handle a 16" frount, its only a wheel still goes round n round. recently raced a 750 Kat 16" (I think kick?) and a XN85, love the quick turning. Diggers hankered after a CX500,( and sometimes still look), but would really like an airhead. Sums up your stable doesn't it? lol Ohhh dear with a Guzzi avatar and that comment Im suprised Kickaha hasent asked if you are my brother... I wonder if I should post up my CX super bike build
That was probably the best one of the Paso range, not that any of those belt drive thingys was really any good, cept maybe the F1 was a random picture of a Paso to highlight why would you hide a V twin engine....was not till years later I saw a project one on TM....the engines are not pretty and the frame looks like it was made out of old school chairs...... The Cagiva Brothers....what did they know.....
