Plus Points: Classic English styled single, parts are cheap.
Minus Points: Made in India, low on power, probably worn out.
Value would depend heavily on condition, very hard to say without pics and story.
I like British bikes but would not own a 350 as too slow.
Sorry can't be more helpful than that.

I doubt they were made in India in '79. I certainly wouldn't entertain buying one either, unless you want to spend most of your time watching out for bits that keep falling off through bad vibration.

A friend bought a modern version (2005) new out of India. Engine vibration caused some electrics to fail. The engine from new was very rattly.
We decided to set his tappets. The machining on the push rods and rocker gear was so poor that you couldn't get an accurate clearance setting. Once the rockers were removed, you could see the drilling marks left on their pivot bores. Precision machining......for sure!

    Good luck Murray.

1979 would be when they first started coming into the country - I remember them in a shop on Eden Terrace. They were a bit pricey brand new ($3,000 I think) and needed a lot of sorting out. should be sorted by now.
