There's still no runoff at turn 10, (and 11?) Or is that the grey bit?

Yeah, I think they said the turn 11 had a concrete run off ( to suit the cars) and the motorcycle people were " in discussion". I wonder how much ( if any) input motorcycle racing gets......or is it just for getting the punters to see big V8's banging into each other...

None, motorcycles dont bring in the money, they dont have room for run off at T11

I listened to a well known motor racing luminary on snivel back, if he was to be believed the larger motor racing fraternity favoured HD by a country mile as being a far better facility long term . The promoter of the aussie V8's saw more bucks in it for him at Puke applied pressure , or more accurately an ultimatum, & all the dead shit politicians fell into line.

Thats my take on it as well, HD is apparently a better track (I haven't ridden on it) and has plans to lengthen the track if nessessary, it was argued that HD only had limited capacity for spectators due to the RMA & much was made of this, however an application to resolve this was in play at the time and has since been approved.

Can Jaffaland support two tracks? I can't recall exactly but HD is 10K a day? I can't see the CMCRR continuing in its current " non Jap" format much longer ...

HD is allowed 50,000 per day (originally 20,000), fuck knows where you'd put them though

"Can Jaffaland support two tracks?" HD is in the waikato, it's under a a different council. There was some sort of trade off as a result of Pukekohe been told to join the 'supercity' as best as I can tell, hence, Pukekohe track, having been run down for several years, is now having dollars thrown at it.

I wonder how dear Puke will be to hire after a few million are chucked at it ? If the costs end up similar to HD I suspect it will become a bit of a white elephant . I know which place I would rather race at.

Taupo? you and Volty should be doing the trip down to Sound Of thunder so you can race a track with more than 6 corners

Do they have any decent beer yet in the SI or just that CD and Speights weasel piss...?
I can't say I'm overly bothered about going to Puke again...apart from its sentimental value as the place 146 crossed the line in front of a BSA Goldstar and Dunstall Norton ( oh and viewing how Triumphs work...)

Timing will not work this year. I'm hoping to get down the the Burt Munro week, a hill climb, street race & Teretonga in 1 week would be cool. Still no confirmed date or even if it will happen.
