If you get chance (It' s on again sat night, 9:30, History Channel) watch WW 1 Top Gun Revealed. All about World War 1 fighter planes and development of plane mounted guns. Most of it is filmed in NZ at The Vintage Aviator base at Masterton.

Too many Airfix kits and Commando comics..... The engines on WW1 planes are pretty cool, radials, rotaries and water cooled inlines.
If you have not been through the aircraft museum in Blenheim yet, make it a must do. It is full of the most amazing WW1 planes both original and recreated by Weta Workshops.
One day SOON my wife is taking me to the Museum at Christchurch/Wigram. She's been there and actually wants to take ME there. Who am i to complain???
You can't complain. It is well worth a visit.
