Wellington - Rides In The Region & Pictures

I try and get out once or twice in the middle of the week for a ride, and share some pictures of some of the region.

No wind, dry roads, and up to Caltex Rimutex, a little bit nippy, topped up the tank, purchased a Subway - Sub Of The Day and headed off for Featherston.

Well the hill was shrouded in cloud and mist, the road was quite wet and several dinner sized plates of oil spilt on the road - I turned around after the second overtaking lane and returned home content to get out the guitar and enjoy yet another coffee and the Subway roll.

    Ride Safe
    Heads Up and Enjoy

Gidday Merv, you know it's been almost 12mths since we last rode. The winter solstice will be upon us again soon, however I think this year may be a little bit more frosty than the last two years...let's see.

We used to have a small gathering down at the SV Caltex and then head out to a KB gathering point on the weekends.

This morning was perfect down here in the Hutt Valley, particularly no wind nor rain - but still the clouds.

G'day Buck - I spotted you up the hill one day just as we were leaving and didn't get a chance to say hello. I was wondering if you folks were coming back over for the Solstice ride - could be a few from this side of the hill join up like last year

[Generally a 11am departure from Rimutex then over to the Wairarapa for a loop ride.....and a good country style big bowl of hot soup as a starter at one of the hotels could be the go this year]

I enjoyed the last two years Winter Solstice rides - this year however I will leave that to somebody else to setup in the calendar section if anyone is keen.

    New thread anybody......

Perhaps when the weather is moving into spring and summer, there could be the opportunity for the SV riders to meet up at the Caltex then ride to a KB gathering point...in the meantime through winter I will take heed of the general conditions. There are a few Sunday morning rides through winter posted on the site here.

Thanks for that BMWST. A few of the earlier tags I could recognise pretty quickly, I guess it is a case of getting out early to find the tag location and taking a pic getting back here and posting it.....is that the way to do it?
