Thumbs up Very impressed with Motomart, Wellington (Lower Hutt)

My experience of motorbike shops in Wellington and what they deem good customer service has overall been pretty disappointing in the years I've been riding (only since Dec 2003). I've generally felt ignored, under valued, ill informed, disrespected and like my custom is not worth making the extra effort for - I even had 1 guy that was far more interested in my tattoos than assisting me with what I needed (flattering but not helpful when I needed a new jacket).

Anyhoo - yesterday I arrived at Motomart in the Hutt http://www.motomart.co.nz/ thinking it would be yet another episode of being hurriedly dealt with and left to my own devices. I was so pleasantly surprised I felt the need to post about it.

I stepped up to the counter and was greeted warmly, the staff member I was there to see was busy so I said I'd go look at the boots (expecting a grunt for reply and to then wander round looking on my own). But no! I was taken aback when the staff member not only 'took me' to the boots but then proceeded to discuss them with me and got some out for me. Then while he gave me space to try them on another staff member approached me and had a chat with me and then voluntarily (without having to be prompted or cajoled) offered to order the boot in my size!

By this stage the staff member I came to see (about a bike they had for sale) was available - once again I was preparing myself to be dismissed quickly and looked down upon due to not wanting to spend a lot of money of some bitchin' new Duke. Another surpriiiiiise! The staff member took me to look at the bike in question and then showed me another even cheaper bike. The whole time remaining friendly and polite.

I can catagoriclly state that this has been the 1st time I've ever left a bike shop feeling like every staff member I interacted with was interested in assisting me and giving me excellent service as a customer.

Thanks Motomart - I'll be back!

    That's awesome! I agree.
I have to say that since they've moved to the new premisis their customer service has improved, not sure what it is, possibly the newer brighter shop front has cheered everyone up or there is just more room to move, who knows, but yep I don't hesitate to shop at Motomart, always helpful and at least you don't have to constantly chase them up about stuff you've ordered etc, they call you back!!
Keep up the good work guys!

Good on the team at Motomart. I don't go in there often because I don't buy much but its nice to hear that there is some good service when you need it.

They don't use their login here much http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/member.php?u=13185 is that because Sparky does all the promoting they need on his login?

Their website needs a bit of work to get it completed and working properly, but we won't hold that against them yet eh! Like "Parts" takes you to the "Service" page and stuff like that with some mention of parts and on-line forms which don't seem to be there. Or do you have to register as a user before it makes any sense?
    Cheers

Of course if you're trying to imply that having "tits" was the reason for my experience of good service then it just doesn't make sense - if my magnificent mammary's had been the reason for the good service I received then surely I would have had a similar occurrence at the other bikes shops in Wellington I have been into?

I'm sorry to say that in my view your argument is flawed and your reasoning just doesn't correlate!

Have found there service good too - they have serviced my bike from new and always been able to fit me in on a Saturday which is the day they only have one mechanic.

I'll add my praise for Motomart too.
Had good service on parts everytime I've used them.
Having no Ducati dealer here in the Bay, Motomart is the place I get my bits from for my wop bike.
