Cool Rimutaka Hill March 12th Weekend

Was amased to see how many bike head out of Wellington area on a nice sunny weekend and was even more stoked to see how many riders were using the Rimutaka Hill to its potential. The most notiable would have to be the MV Augusta (yes I recognise you off this site) chased closely by the Kwaka... ZX10??. We were cruising over the hill in a Ute towing 3 dirt bikes and saw them coming towards us overtaking a car on a 'good' corner and I thought to myself 'damm I couldve bought the road bike and the dirt bike'.
We were on a mission to watch Crusty in Wellington and decided to make a weekend of it by riding Karapoti - Paraparaumu on Friday and the Rimutaka Pilon track on Saturday followed by Crusty on Saturday night, a few drinks and a day of recovery Sunday (and Monday) before heading back to work Tuesday.
Was also really impressed with the weather that turned on warm and sunny. We saw no other bikes in Karapoti on Friday and thought you poor b@#*^#ds stuck inside working on a day like that.
Im not the Ghost Rider, he rides too slow.

Think I mighta seen you...I too was travelling by cage (having young kids does that for ya) and I noted 3 utes with dirtbikes on the back. 1 in front (but not for long ) and 2 coming the otherway .... around 12ish.

Saw a few bikes at the top, a few passing me and a few more coming from the other way.

*sigh* I was imagining my last taka hill bike ride so vividly I almost drove over the cliff

As soon as I pay off cage....I'm ticking up a bike!!!!

WT get the H/P form and the reciept book ready!

I saw you too, well I remember a bunch of dirt bikes being carted over the hill if you are talking about Sunday. I was on a loan bike chasing the unnamed one on the MV. I was riding a green Kawasaki 636. One of the new ones out for a short test ride. Better looking than the ZX10 and a far safer fast ride. Gave it a vigorous weekend test all of 670kms from Friday night to Monday morning. Now that's what I call going around the block for a test ride! Awesome machine for the hill and wheelies like nothing else I've tried. It's moved way up on my list of desirable machines, if I feel like a change.
Don't all rush in for a demo ride - it's been sold. Hope the owner appreciates I scrubbed in the tyres.

Actually it wasn't me. I'm pretty sure I know who it was but alas I haven't attacked the hill for weeks

    Oh, and it's MV Agusta

I emailed him about it recently. He's going to try mine since I have a different chip and see if it's any better. If not then not many options. Either ask for a factory chip or go the power commander way.

I'm in Oz early April so I'm trying to pick up a BMC filter for the Brutale. Might be interesting to see if that makes any difference.
