    Never experienced sleep paralysis.

Been woken up a few times by crazy bitches thumping me because they thought their dream about me cheating on them was real, though.

Hahaha it must have been the sleep talking !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

ooo creepy. Never heard of it before but if it happens I shall breathe and try to stay calm like 007 said and wiggle my fingers and toes until it passes.

I apparently (when not talking in my sleep) stop breathing...not sure what that's about but it gives hubby the shits apparently - I however wake up in the morning sweet as....for now at least anyway

    Last night

Last night it hit me again. This time when I felt the chill rush over, I just sat back and let it happen.
I don't know how to explain. It felt like an electric shock. After a few seconds it was gone. Then a few minutes later it hit me again. wtf? This is not sleep paralysis I know. It repeated over 5 times.

It felt as if... my back bone was lifting up, shoulder blades moving towards together, then my head pushed back. It felt like a massive electric shock. There was some pain and because of head being pushed back with force, I woke up with sore neck this morning. No I wasn't stretching. But seriously I wasn't trying to do something apart from sleeping!

OK call me crazy. I am crazy. But honestly I don't lie or make up shit. I'm not afraid of it, it's just freaky and annoying!

Maybe it's just another type of a sleep disorder.

Definately not sleep paralysis. Doesn't sound right, I'd get it checked out. You may be having some sort of wierd type of epilepsy and if it is new and you haven't ever had it before then it should be investigated.

On sleep paralysis, I have had it occasionally all my life - wake up unable to move for a minute or two, and thought it happened to everybody until one day a group was talking about it, after seeing something on TV about it, and I realised I was the only one who experienced it.

This could be related to you selling your bike .. The bike's spirit is giving you a kick maybe?

Hmmmm ... sounds like you need to take a hot bath, drink some hot chocolate and go to bed at a normal time - if symptoms persist, go see the doctor (who is not a family friend).

I've heard many stories lke this before but never really experienced it till now.

No it wasn't a dream. I was wide awake around 5:00am and was about to fall back to sleep. When I was about to fall asleep (the light, comfortable and very cozy feeling), suddenly chill rush overwhelmed like surfing through the blood vessel. Then the whole limb numbs and just solid rock froze. I was able to break out from it because many of my friends (when we shared horror stories when I was young) talked about "sleep paralysis" and I remember someone saying about how to break out from it (try to wiggle your toes and fingers, then with luck, make a movement).

People told me lots about seeing some presence in the room but I wasn't able to see that. Thank God! I'm feeling chill on my back as I type this. I'm not superstitious but this "experience" was very... so real. I am still quite shocked actually.

Ok ok all above may sound very stupid but I'm not mad!
I've had that before - around dawn often one of my limbs (a foot) freezes rock solid and I find myself sensing a presence in the bed.

Usually ends in a sticky mess.

As many people have said, it's a natural hormone/whatever your brain gives ya so you don't act out your dreams.

There is a condition called narcolepsy (I think???). What happens is the brain randomly gives out this hormone so you end up collapsing because you can't move. You're aware of everything, just paralysed. I saw a documentary on it once...

Not meaning to alarm you but.....

I would highly recommend talking to your GP. A form of epilepsy is certainly something to consider EJK.

There are many forms and you don't necessarily "convulse". There are Partial Seizures that start in a localized area of the brain. They can differ widely from person to person, but will usually be the same each time for the individual, as the abnormal electrical discharges occur in the same area each time.

Partial seizures can occur at any age, but most often start in adulthood. In some cases the reason is known, in others none can be found.

    BUT GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!
No body move... I dropped my brain
