    Aussie MCN Superbike shootout

    Interesting reading this.

    Results as follows :

    1. Honda CBR1000RR
    2. Ducati 1198S
    3. MV Augusta 312R
    4. Suzuki GSX-R1000K9
    5. Kawasaki ZX-10R
    6. Yamaha YZF-R1
    7. KTM1190 RC8R

Biggest suprise for me is the R1. It showed to have the lowest power to weight ratio but managed the 3rd fastest lap time. (About 0.6 sec behind the Honda)

    A good read though...

Would a difference of less than a second around a track make you want too buy one bike over another? It seems that each magazine that reviews these bikes has different results which just tells us that the bikes are pretty much the same!

    Close is the word.
At least half a dozen different shootouts have been performed by publications the world over, the results are never the same and neither is the order.

This is only the track test - the road test yet to come.

Except the CBR seems to consistently come out tops.......

Agree- ride what you wanna ride
Disagree- to hell with what anyone else thinks

I think we all agree the technical performance of sportsbikes are separated by the length of a bees dick these days.

The trick to selling bikes though, which is clearly escaping some manufacturers, is build a bike that people will feel good about and PROUD to own. Just like the age old saying "your pride and joy"

As an analogy. Both Susan Boyle and Beyonce can sing a song with a sweet voice. But which one would you want your mates to see you riding?

The latest crop of sportsbikes just seem to get more bland and uglier each time you see them. My personal exceptions being the RSV4, 1198 & 675 and even the BMW1000RR has that x-factor.

It might be just me but I reckon the RSV4 looks bloody ugly from the front. However, the rest looks bloody sweet

Yammy R1 is a sweet looker from the front. Not bad from any angle actually.
