State of Waipapa Rd, Nth of Mangakino?

Does anybody know the latest on the state of this road between Te Awamutu and Mangakino.

Just under a year ago it was washed out up by Arohena and there was a detour in place through some side roads that included gravel roads.

I'm intending to zip through there tomorrow and just want to know that I won't have to take the detour and will be able to stay on Waipapa Road.

Anyone know if it's all good now?

The repairs were completed some time ago and the road is pretty good (as good as its ever going to get.....) Came through this afternoon at about 3:30pm; lots of damp patches in the shaded areas and a few spots where there was still frost on the side of the road.
If you are coming through in the morning take care as those damp spots will be seriously icy (there was even black ice on State Highway One just north of Taupo this morning).

i did it 7-8 months ago, it was closed haly way through.
I would still recomend you to use this road, its worth a shot.
the detour will lead you to old taupo road, whihc itself is a great road to ride.
    GO for it bro.

Thanks for the replies. And yep I know Old Taupo Road and the other road North of it. Nice riding roads mid summer.

Trumpy I'll be around for the weekend so hopefully no black ice around town early.

    Cheers.
