    Stolen bike (Auckland, 4 June)

Woke up this morning (04\06\09)to find that some A*&%hole decided that they were more deserving of my new zx6r than I am. Last seen 6pm 03/06/09 in our secure apartment garage with brake lock etc....(Eden Terrace)

I have saved for 6 months to get the cash to purchase the bike without HP and now its gone. Unfortunately my license type prevented me from insuring it but in hindsight could have done it for fire and theft(can only blame myself for that one)

If you happen to see or hear of someone acquiring a 09 blue zx6r number plate 51zyh then please let the "boys in blue" know.

Anyway it back to my wifes VTR 250 while I figure out how to get some cash fast cause it was one hell of a bike.

dude you have to try swann insurance, i'm on my learners and have my scooter on 3rd party fire and theft and my RG150E on full cover with open rider!!
only bad thing is cause of my license i'm on a 250$ license excess and a 750$ age excess as well as the usual 250$ basic excess, my scooter is like 150$ a yr, and bike is 400$ a year for full cover, both valued at 2Gs

hope this helps (p.s if u have the ignition hardwired with a remote start no-one will steal your bike unless they have a big van)

That sucks man. I'm just around the corner and spent ages looking for somewhere with its OWN garage - for exactly this reason.
I've never liked those apartment garages for bikes.

have a word with Chris at Motomail - he's got a friend that was looking at setting up bike storage facilities in Newton.
If its still a goer it could be a better parking option for you on the next one.

Bastards. When I went away for 3 weeks over Christmas, I undid the main axle bolt on the front wheel of my Harley to the point that it was just hanging on by a thread. I was almost hoping it would get stolen.

Dont they have any camera's in the garage. I live in a apartment to in Grey Lynn and have been lazy about locking the bike up. Harsh lesson to learn though, but it pays to have insurance. My old man insisted I get it when I got my ride and two months later it was written off. Still cost me $2000 in insurance costs but better than $10000 and no bike

We do have camera's. The cops are taking a look now so hopefully they can get some leads as most criminals are notorious for appearing on security camera's.

It was a oxford Disk lock. The biggest one you can get. Still didn't stop them

    Sorry to hear that mate.

Hopefully they'll catch the cunts before they flog/chop the bike.

Just pays, in more ways then one!, to get insurance.
