    Movies

Being semi-retired I get to go the movies whenever I wish. The mid-week specials at $10 bucks is a good deal.

This week I have seen Star-trek, Terminator, and X-Men Wolverine.

Star-trek was just a remake of a remake of a remake and hardly worth watching. The Borgs were always way better baddies than some humanoid dressed up as a baddie humanoid. In fact, I think Lost In Space, Circa 1967, was more entertaining than this Star trek.

Terminator was simply fatuous...I nearly walked out half-way through.

But X-Men I found to be 'mostly' entertaining. Sure, there are huge gaps in continuity and purpose, but the characters mostly acted their parts well. And when the old couple got shot I got engaged with the plot.

I thought Weapon Eleven had his lights extinguished in a less-than-believable way but...all-in-all? A watchable movie.
    Only 'Now' exists in reality.

    Going to the movies?

If I want to spend money to be annoyed by people with cellphones I'll just wait for my wife to phone me.

I can not stand Nicholas Cage and refuse to watch any movies with him in them! The movie Next was the last straw for me.

Yeah, no kidding. And depending one which cinema you end up in the uncomfortable seats, no leg room at all, crap screen, crapper sound and being forced to watch adds before something you've just paid an arm and a leg to see.

That said, the last 2 movies I went to see in st lukes and sylvia park had none of those issues, was pretty impressed on all counts. with sylvia park the seating was especially impressive. Not sure if it was just one particular cinema but the seats were wide, well padded and there was enough leg room that someone could get past in front without me really having to move at all.
